I call this bike Plan B because it would be the back-up plan should either a biger, or smaller bike break down. It can largely hang with the 450 in harder terrain, and it haul camping gear well so it can do CDRs/BDRs with ease. If I could have only one bike, this would very likely be "The One".
Seeing as I can have more than one, the 450s are more fun (and safer) in challenging terrain not requiring luggage, and my 790 rocks as a full-on ADV bike.
= = =
I have never owned a 690/701, but I have tired them out in years gone by. I didn't like them.
So, why buy a bike because you didn't like previously? Because I used to be a dumbass. That is one thing that is consistent in my life. Every time I look back I realize how I knew nothing back then. ;)
Bikes reveal their personalities, and from their personalities often comes a name. I'm getting started withthe name "Snappy" as I have notice a great grunt that snaps me to attention!
